We are a Toronto, Ontario based team committed to help inform and provide resources to those interested or affected by the opioid crisis. We hope to spread awareness to help remove the stigma of drug addiction, dependency, and other substance abuse disorders.
WHY WE STARTED
Our goal when starting this project was to create and research content that would be informative and helpful for both our peers and the general public. By explaining the issues caused due to the over-prescription and careless use of opioids, we hope to draw attention to the ways in which this problem can be mitigated, or even diminished. We aim to touch on subjects such as the starting point of the opioid crisis, the population that is most affected by it and how to minimize this problem. By interviewing our friends, family and peers, and incorporating original visuals, we wish to add a more personalized touch and raise the indexical quality of our website. With the help of the digital media lab, our knowledgeable professors in the Communications program at Glendon and the unlimited information at our fingertips, we thrive to develop a website that will reach beyond COMS 4200 and positively impact our community.
